Gonzales thinks war is bad because her friends lost their lives in Vietnam. They were supose to come back to her, but they died. She was sad becaue they were close friends.

Yea I do agree with her position because I think that everyone is entitled to their opinion and that she has her own feelings that need to be expressed. They might gain a new opinion about Vietnam because it was told through some one who was inolved in it
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gonzalez's point of view on war. She fear's for the one's she know's going across shore's to fight for her country and she wish's she knew for a fact she would see them again. She say's I knew I'd see them again for heroe's do not die and after all the good guy's always win. She also say's she sang love song's to them and how she drempt of kissing the young marine boys and how she still does. All of us miss the one's who die in war at least we know they died for the right reason.
ReplyDeleteGonzales doesn't like the war. The war makes Gonzales sad because it makes her think about the local boys, how much she misses them, and how they never got to come back for her. I agree with Gonzales' position on the war because if I liked a boy so much and I never got to see him again I would be crushed! In the book it says that Barbara made up Ken dolls and named the dolls after them. Barbara imagined kissing them in their green military uniforms with stiff brass buttons. Readers may gain a better understanding of the war and the people who lost their loved ones because Barbara lost loved ones and describes her feelings in her essay. She includes some different details of the war in her essay. They may be able to gain more insight by having back ground knowledge to compare or base her information and opinions on.

ReplyDeleteI think that the war makes Gonzales sad because it reminds her about the local boys that she lost.I think that she loved the local boys and cant love anyone else.As her friend is writing about Vietnam and that makes her think about the boys.As shes thinking bout the boys she remembers what happend and tells the story how she lost her boys in Vietnam. Some of the insights that we might gain is that we sould under stand more things about life and how crule it is.

1. Gonzales thinks that war is bad because all of the Texas boys she danced with died in the Vietnam War. I agree with Gonzales because warcan take your friends and family from you. One example is when all of the Texas boys she danced with died in the war and she loved them. Another example is "of the 3,427 Texas men who died in Vietnam, 22% were Latinos, and another 12% of the dead African-American.The minorities were not a minority in the platoons, but a majority of the frigtened faces.And one-third of the bobdy bags.

1. I think that Gonzales is the kind of person who wishes that war was a story, beacause the story said that only the word Vietnam could make her cry. I agree with her because in war, there is killing and horrible times on each side of the war.
